Facebook accounts in 17 Arab countries exceed 24 million by March 2011

This report analyzes the number of Facebook accounts in 17 Arab countries; namely: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Facebook does not provide data for the number of accounts in Syria and Sudan.

"The highest number of estimated active Facebook accounts was registered in Egypt with nearly 5.7 million accounts (23.5% of total accounts). Saudi
Arabia came next with more than 3.5 million accounts (14.7%), whereas Morocco followed with 3 million active accounts (12.5%). Mauritania had
the least number of accounts with less than 54,000 active accounts (0.2%).
